STAR READERS Program Philosophy: Every student can read and can excel at their reading level if they are provided with appropriate guidance and tools to succeed.
Teachers model reading strategies and thinking process through Read Aloud, Shared Reading and Guided Reading to support students’ reading comprehension, decoding and understanding the meaning of unknown words.
Through Star Readers, teachers coach and guide students in their application of strategies, and provide students with opportunities to read independently, ask questions, and express their responses to the material read.
